about avery
Hello! I’m Avery, one of the founders of WWTutoring and one of our tutors. My greatest strengths lie in the more language/literature alley, which means things like reading comprehension and book clubs, essays and creative writing projects. Creative writing especially is near and dear to my heart. I started fiction writing when I was nine, the age I drafted my first book, Salim’s Battle, and published it through the Society of Young Inklings, a small independent publisher. I have since published a trilogy through this organization as well as won two national gold medals in prose from the Scholastic Art & Writing competition.
I started taking APs in middle school as well as courses in literature and Arabic at Sac State. From 10th-12th grade, I took 16 upper-division courses at UC Davis, in statistics, psychology, and of course, literature. I recently took the ACT, and somehow earned a perfect 36/36.
Writing is my favorite thing in the world and I’d be honored to work with any student who wants to work on it with me, and that of course includes academic essay writing as well. I can also help with reading comprehension and reading skills through things like book clubs and games.
I currently attend Stanford University with fellow Willow Way tutors, Alexander Yue and Isaac Goodman. I am pursuing degrees in Data Science and Psychology.
